Shaping tomorrow’s sustainable chips to systems

Kvanttinova is an ecosystem for players in the field of chips and chip-based systems, which catalyses innovation and brings people and companies together, all while hosting a fun and beneficial community.

By uniting talent, technology and businesses, we support creating the leading innovations in specialised microelectronics and quantum computing.

Kvanttinova includes an industry-driven piloting and development hub that offers easy access to VTT and Aalto University piloting facilities for development of microelectronics and quantum technology.

In Kvanttinova ecosystem, innovative circuit design and advanced materials are brought together to create new devices and products from technologies such as MEMS and MOEMS, CMOS, cryogenics, quantum, RF components, integrated photonics, and 2D materials.

Why Kvanttinova?

Semiconductor chips are the building blocks of modern technology.

Kvanttinova’s core infrastructure includes VTT-hosted, shared-use R&D piloting environment, along with upcoming new facilities, which are to be occupied by VTT and companies with their own R&D and production sites.

These facilities will offer state-of-the-art equipment for chip development and pilot production on 200mm and 300mm wafers, bringing major benefits in improved reliability and repeatability of the processes.

To accelerate the development of novel, sustainable semiconductors, upcoming Kvanttinova Hub brings:

  • Companies’ private cleanrooms
Cleanrooms adapted to the needs of each company.
  • Advanced shared-use facilities
New products development and scale-up towards mass manufacturing by using the piloting services and modern facilities.
  • Specialised R&D capabilities
Benefit from more than 40 years of specialised microelectronics expertise present in the Otaniemi region of Espoo.

These three combined form a systemic innovation hub that will help you shape tomorrow’s sustainable chips to systems.
